The 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) opened on Thursday in Beijing, under the theme "Global Services, Shared Prosperity." The event brings together participants from 85 countries and international organizations, including over 450 Fortune Global 500 companies and leading firms from various industries.
A Platform for Global Collaboration
CIFTIS has emerged as a critical platform for promoting cooperation in the service sector and facilitating global services trade. Since its quality upgrade in 2020, the fair has gained increasing international influence, playing a vital role in expanding opening-up, deepening cooperation, and driving innovation in the services industry.
This year’s event will feature more than 100 activities, including thematic forums, meetings, and project promotion conferences, where key industry leaders and stakeholders will exchange ideas and showcase new developments. In addition, over 200 integrated innovation achievements are set to be unveiled.
Global Participation and New Technologies
Deputy Mayor of Beijing Sima Hong highlighted that participating countries and organizations will showcase their services trade strengths in a dedicated exhibition area at the China National Convention Center. Another venue, Shougang Park, will host exhibitions focused on cultural and tourism features from foreign countries, fostering greater cultural exchange and global cooperation.
The 2024 CIFTIS will also introduce cutting-edge technologies, including naked-eye 3D displays, autonomous driving, digital culture, smart education, and intelligent sports. These innovations reflect China’s commitment to advancing digital transformation in the service sector.

As China continues to support the high-quality development of services trade, new policies are rapidly being introduced, creating fresh opportunities for foreign-funded enterprises. The Chinese market, known for its vitality, is becoming increasingly attractive to global companies looking to establish a foothold in the region.
Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric, Xu Shaofeng, expressed the company's commitment to tailoring innovative service solutions for the Chinese market. He noted that Schneider Electric, which is participating in CIFTIS for the fifth time, will sign cooperation agreements with local partners to achieve win-win results.

Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of Commerce, emphasized China’s dedication to providing new opportunities for the world through the achievements of Chinese modernization. The 2024 CIFTIS is expected to produce practical results, with a focus on precise matchmaking across all sectors, promoting stronger collaborations between domestic and international enterprises.
