8th China-Eurasia Expo Opens in Urumqi with Focus on Trade and Investment

The 8th China-Eurasia Expo commenced on Wednesday morning in Urumqi, located in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Spanning an area of 140,000 square meters, the expo features pavilions from 23 countries, three regions, and one international organization. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan are the guest countries of honor, with Beijing, Shandong, and Sichuan as the guest city and provinces.

Key Highlights

International Participation: The expo includes participants from Russia, Central, West, and South Asian countries, as well as RCEP members, focusing on trade and investment in food and agricultural products, textiles and clothing, energy, and chemicals.

Historical Significance: Since its inception in 2011, the China-Eurasia Expo has been a crucial platform for Asian and European countries. Over seven editions, the expo has hosted more than 12,200 exhibitors from over 70 countries and regions, attracting 2.16 million visitors in total.

Trade and Investment Focus

During the five-day event, three significant trade and investment matchmaking activities will be held, aiming to enhance cooperation in key sectors. This year's expo underscores its role as the only state-level, international, and comprehensive exhibition in Xinjiang, fostering economic ties between Asia and Europe.
