During GITEX Global 2024, Huawei hosted a roundtable event titled "Build City Intelligent Twins to Accelerate City Digital Transformation," bringing together government experts and partners from China, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Africa to discuss the future of smart cities and government digitalization. This event highlighted Huawei’s cutting-edge advancements in digital infrastructure for city governance.
City Intelligent Twins Architecture for Smart City Transformation
At the Huawei Cloud UAE Summit, Hank Chen, R&D President of Government Public Services Digitalization BU at Huawei, introduced Huawei's latest smart city framework—"City Intelligent Twins Architecture." This architecture redefines urban management, helping cities integrate digital transformation seamlessly. With city awareness, Huawei’s architecture maps the physical world into the digital realm, while the city cloud acts as the brain, powered by cloud-native and AI algorithms to support intelligent city services.
The architecture also includes a city big data system to maximize the value of data, enabling efficient city governance and public service delivery. Smart city applications, as part of this architecture, function as the "limbs," facilitating public services and city governance.
With global partnerships, Huawei has already deployed this architecture in over 200 cities across 40+ countries, accelerating the digital transformation of urban areas and improving governance efficiency.
Smart City Innovation: Global Roundtable Insights
The Global Smart City Innovation Roundtable provided a platform for Huawei and its partners to discuss smart city development based on projects from various cities worldwide. Wang Bin, President of the Marketing & Solution Sales Department at Huawei’s Government Public Services Digitalization BU, shared insights from China’s smart city evolution, which has transitioned from informatization to digitalization, and now to intelligence. He emphasized how China's experience in infrastructure, intelligent center capabilities, and application development can offer a blueprint for cities looking to enhance their efficiency through smart technology.
National One-Stop Public Services Solution and National Smart City Solution Launches
At the event, Huawei introduced two significant solutions in collaboration with key partners:
- National One-Stop Public Services Solution: Developed with partners such as Audaque, Linewell, and Bamboocloud, this solution streamlines public service delivery by leveraging digital technologies.
- National Smart City Solution: Created in partnership with Freedo Technology, Isoftstone Smart Technology, and RayChange Technology, this solution is designed to further enhance city governance and smart infrastructure.
These innovative solutions will help cities around the world optimize their public services and adopt smart city strategies to meet future challenges.
