Baowu Group Masteel Rail Transit Materials Technology Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in the city, has developed cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities for high-speed train wheels. Their premium axle products are now exported to over 70 countries, demonstrating the company’s expertise and global reach in high-end steel production.

Anhui's Digital Transformation: Home to Five Lighthouse Factories

Anhui's commitment to digital and intelligent manufacturing is evident with five "lighthouse factories" recognized by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with McKinsey & Company. These factories serve as benchmarks for global digital transformation in manufacturing. The Hefei Haier COSMO Intelligent Control Interconnected Factory, one of Anhui's lighthouse factories, has significantly reduced its Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) time from hours to seconds using a virtual industrial engineer. This innovation has boosted production efficiency by 30%, setting new standards for smart manufacturing.

Rapid Digital Transformation Across Anhui's Industries

Over 80% of industrial enterprises in Anhui have initiated digital transformation, with more than half achieving comprehensive digital upgrades. This widespread adoption of intelligent manufacturing technologies is rapidly reshaping the industrial landscape of the province.

Sustainable Copper Production in Tongling

Tongling City, known as China's first copper industrial base, is leading the way in sustainable resource management. Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd.'s Jinguang Copper Branch has implemented advanced recycling technologies to recover approximately 14,300 tonnes of copper annually, equivalent to the reserves of a medium-sized copper mine. These efforts reflect the company's commitment to reducing waste and maximizing resource utilization.

Green Manufacturing: A Core Focus for Anhui

To drive green development in the manufacturing sector, Anhui has adopted comprehensive strategies that include reducing output, controlling production capacity, and enhancing energy efficiency. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), energy consumption per unit of industrial added value in Anhui decreased by 20.05%. Currently, 80% of national-level and 75% of provincial-level industrial parks in Anhui have completed recycling transformations, underscoring the province's dedication to sustainable development.
